NO !!! this is his personal behaviour and it has nothing to do with the religion... ! i am a muslim woman and nobody at my home bothers about my comming to yahoo answers and you would see many muslim women here comming regularly ! actualy i have so many muslim female friends from answers and this is becuase their men allow them to use answers ! all i wanted to say is that his man has his personal attitude and religion is not involoved !

im not sure but i do know that muslims are really religious and strict...like i grew up with a muslim family and my sister and i could not do ANYTHING because everything was going against the Quran..but ofcourse thats not everyone..also woman are not exactly equal in islamic countries, men think that woman are of lower status

well it really doesnt have anything to do with religion; i am muslim and yet i have a myspace and a facebook and i go on yahoo answers. There is nothing wrong with that and no one tells me i cant. its not like i do anything wrong on it and my morals dont change when i go on it. You should ask your friend and see why her husband wont let her. Maybe he is just really overprotective of her or had a bad experience with it. You should really get her to talk to her husband and really figure things out. But just remember, its his personality that is getting in her way and not religion ...

no its not.. my catholic friend at school doesnt have a myspace cuz his mom doesnt think its safe and hes like 14 or 15.. a lot of my friends dont have myspaces cuz their parents are over protective and they are christian.. last year my friends boyfriend did not allow her to have a myspace at all because he would think a guy would want to hook up with her and she'll break up with him, and the man was not muslim. i hardly use myspace any more anyways, id rather come here than there. but i wouldnt blame the guy who doesnt allow his wife to have a myspace or yahoo answers, it has a lot of freaks, so who knows.. she should stop doing that behind her husbands back or tell him that all her friends are girls or he can moniter what she does.. so it doesnt have anything to do with religion, i know plently of muslims with a myspace and go to y!a.

My husband does not allow me on those sites ethier, lol (well he dont care about yahoo answers but he HATES myspace. He feels it sparks fitnah. Even though you can you do private settings he just feels like their are to many men on it and also many bad girls. As his wife I listen to him. He is happy and in the end he is right. A good Muslim woman should not be playing around on myspace and such! This is the way a Muslim man (any man) woudl act if he truly loves his wife. I am sure their are men who really dont care but she should be happy her husband cares to protect her like he does. I can not believe she sneaks and does that though, haram! Allah alim.

No. My husband doesn't want me being on Myspace either and I don't get on as that website freaks me out. The last time I had a myspace some guy was stalking me. So I deleted it. As for Y%26amp;A my husband hates me being on here but he allows me to do so since we won't have Internet in his home when we go back to KSA. As a Muslim woman and as the wife of a Muslim man she is obligated to obey her husband and not go behind his back. If a spouse goes behind their other's back then the marriage isn't built on trust. This is of course not Islam. Islam gave the women so many rights and as long as she is not using those websites in a ways that goes against her religion and it's principles, there should be no problem. Even if she speaks with other mean, what's wrong with that. She is not having sex with them. That's stupid.

In most things which are basic to Islam, we Muslims are in agreement. There is some things that we disagree on. Some Muslim women might not like going on the internet. I know that some Muslim women think that it is wrong to have any contact with any man on the internet-unless he is a relative. The thing is that we women can have contact with "foreign" men (men who are not muharram(not our relatives) ... BUT it MUST be in accordance with the teachings of The Faith. The contact that we have with them must be for valid Islamic reasons and in a way which is not seductive. We can not make friends with men on the internet.

While reading the answers to this question, I noticed one distinct thing. While other muslim woman are answering the question and saying that not all muslim men are like this.... the way they are answering bothers me. Their men "allow" them to come to answers. My man doesn't "allow" me to do anything. I am my own person. He cannot forbid me to do anything. Through mutual respect and love, their are certain things that I (and he) would not do, like cheat, or otherwise behave inappropriately. And I would of course respect and take into consideration any opinions or reservations he has, as he would me, but we don't "allow" each other to do anything.

I guess that is just my opinion and to each their own. If you are happy and content in your situation then so be it.
