It is best to use standard video and audio formats that do not require special codecs. The file is played on the remote computers, it is what uses the player, not the site...If I go to a site that has to use a special codec, I won't open or allow the file, it could be a worm or just corrupt, best not to allow just anything to get installed on your computer as that leeds to lag, takes space and can corrupt or change your computer settings.
Where can I find a music player (free is best) for my myspace page?
I get mine from the "music" section of myspace. If you want a video, www.webratsmusic.com provides the codes.

I'm not exactly sure about myspace, but if it works like other web sites, you upload the music file somewhere and then embed a player that points to it.
Here is some sample HTML code for doing so:
%26lt;embed src="xxxxxxxx.mp3" width=100 height=50 controls=smallconsole autostart=true autorestart=true loop=false%26gt; %26lt;/embed%26gt;
