Myspace - How do make friends easily both locally and internationally?

I have just opened a Myspace account, but wondered how you can search for people by their location - I.e. I would like to meet people more locally. Also, what's a good meeting place within Myspace and the best way to send messages/chat to them?? Any help would be appreciated, thanks

The best thing to do is add people you know at first. then browse their friends to look 4 interesting people! You can browse through as many friends as you want ie a friend of a friend of a friend etc. Watch out for weirdos tho!

and you can find different people, read their profile to decide if you want them as friends or not
