People are different. Some people delete their accounts because they lack friends, lack interest in what their friends do, or are tired of telling people how fine they are, or how great their week have been when in reality, everyone has problems. Myspace is a site designed for people to keep in touch and some people may not want to for whatever reason, and a lot still do. This really depends on the person, but myspace is a great way to keep in contact with old, new, and future friends just to let everyone know you are around. Well personally i never saw a need for myspace. Thing is, like an email address, and my being in high school, no one felt like using regular email. It had to be MYSPACE...so at annoyance to all end I subjected myself to creating a page, which stayed basic for about a year or two. At that time I decided I wanted to learn some html and i have the page you see now.

Why? to a few friends its become the last way I know anything about them since I've graduated. But honestly I perfer my blogs and email. guess I've always been a little old school internet, still lurking 4chan and IRC.

What will be the new thing? Youtube and google video. In my opinion they are doing more to net culture than any of the other sites I see right now.

The question lies, is myspace old? guess the death throes started when Murdoch bought it. same as when google bought youtube. Alot of the older users saw it as a sell out. That may be the reason. I am seeing much movement to facebook which many feel has sold out by allowing non .edu emails and the addition of the news feeds which many of us have come to calling Stalkerbook.

I'm wondering when the next major internet community will spring up, right now i see it as the transition period caused by the fact that the news for some reason likes to pick on myspace, causing some of the more alarmist parents to ban it in thier houses making some users go searching for the next thing.

Then again, this could be a sign not of the times but of the peer group you are in, we leave and the next line of high schoolers jump in....

Myspace has peaked in popularity though it will be widely used for a long time yet. What makes me mad is that myspace has been around for a long time now and not once have they updated it or tried to make it more efficient, user friendly, or added cooler features. What they need to do is to make all the myspace type pages from other companies etc. able to merge into one giant database, then the myspace revolution will be kickstarted again.

MySpace is a good tool to keep in touch with people. I moved across the country, and I use mine to keep in touch with friends, keep in touch with my younger siblings, and to get back in touch with people who have drifted.

I've rekindled lots and lots of friendships from my entire childhood, from about 8 to 16. I love it. You eventually get to an age where you want to go back because you finally appreciate all those who made you who you are today.

People are getting all weird about how dangerous it is, but if a kid is going to run away with someone from the internet, not having a MySpace is not going to stop them.

I met a guy and we have been dating. He pops up at my house like we are serious, and he spends time with me and my kids.He is showing he cares about us. He is a good guy. I really care for him. I asked him the other day if this was really something or was this another myspace fling waiting for the next best thing. Because he has not chaged his status it stil says single and that he is there for dating and serious relationships. He got offended and said why am I doubting him. The next day I was not his #1 on his top anymore I was #2. He says that it means nothing and I am reading too much into it. Really sweet guy, I have been through alot and I am not trying to be hurt by any games.

p.s. I am really beginning to hate myspace by the way. Its so over rated and fake. Do you guys think I am over reacting?

Yes in a way i do think your over reacting because its just the computer he is there with you in your bed. But on the other hand, if he drops you like that from a the top 1 to the 2nd spot that is when i will ask questions, definely if the top is another girl, but if its family i wont worry about it.

okay let me give you some foundation. my boyfriend wants to be a journalist. hes really good at writting.. okay.. so he has a myspace. i dont. he also has this best friend. and yes his best friend is a girl and they used to have a thing for each other before we got together. okay so on myspace he posts these blogs.. one like every week. and sometimes two maybe even three at a time. since him and i have offically became a couple he has yet to post a blog about our relationship. to top it off every two out of three of his blogs are written to his best friend. i mean i love my boyfriend.. and we wanna move in together. we spend everyday together. and when he writes his blogs he doesnt even include me in any of them. should i be mad?? im hurt.. but is this really a big deal? ive brought it to his attention before but he has done nothing about it. and when i tell him all he says is that he doesnt wanna waste his time talking about it. is he trying to hide our relationship??

Wow, that is hard...ok myspace is a relationship killer (so I like to call it). A lot of females like to send messages to men even though knowing he is 'taken'..Grrrrrrr that pisses me off. Anyhow, my ex has myspace and I used to go thru his comments that his female friends posted and I did not like most of the comments. I used to see, "Hey sexy, whatcha' doing later baby?" or "mmmm I would luv those lips on my lips" OMG are they crazy? Hello he's taken, what part of: STATUS: did they not understand?! lol

What really hurt me was that he had a very close female friend (they dated in the past and of course we're intimate) so she would post these sexual comments and I would be oh my god jealous...I asked him if he had feelings for her and he would reply, "no, we are thru, just friends, stop worrying so much, I love you" (like in your case). I believed him but I knew he STILL had feelings for her otherwise those comments wouldn't have made him blush.

I think you should tell him this, "Look I know you and she are very good friends but I should be your best friend. If you're in a relationship and you say you love me then there should be no other before me." Let him know how you really feel. Don't act like a baby and talk soft and kitty kitty, be real and let him know you're not fuck1ing around. That ***** is trying to take your man...slowly...with her retarded comments. I would tell him to end it with her. I made my ex end his friendship because trust me you think a guy and a girl can really be best friends? (especially knowing they had something in the past)? No! I do not believe in male and female best friends unless they're getting it on or want to get it on.

So tell him just like that because he shouldn't be writing about her in his blogs..exposing it to all his other friends that she means more, UH UH! wrong. Let him know your true emotions. You're not being jealous or over reacting you just want a stable relationship without wh0res ruining it. So do what you have to do and handle it!... speak your mind! When i sign into myspace, after typing in my email and password, i click "Log In" but then all that comes up on my screen is the thing saying "Return to home" so it's not letting me see my page!!!

However, when i type my URL and press enter it takes me to my myspace page, and says that im online. however, it says "This profile is private. the user must add you as his/her friend blah blah..."

not really since all those messages go trough the myspace server... so if anything you'll just the ip from myspace servers... just tell her to junk them and ignore them.... if she really wants to stop it completely, tell her to block ALL incoming messages from the "account settings" her friends can still message her as long as they reply to her bullitins or comments :)

my best friend just had a baby and as a gift i want to make her a personalized scrapbook/ baby book using her own pictures. she posted her pics on myspace. i can use those except that they come out blurry when i try to print them. when i go to her pics, i right click and save the pics in mypictures then i open my kodak easy share software and load the pictures in there and try to edit but the pics look horrible. help me there has to be some way around this. i can't ask her for the pics because i want it to be a surprise for her and her husband.
