People are different. Some people delete their accounts because they lack friends, lack interest in what their friends do, or are tired of telling people how fine they are, or how great their week have been when in reality, everyone has problems. Myspace is a site designed for people to keep in touch and some people may not want to for whatever reason, and a lot still do. This really depends on the person, but myspace is a great way to keep in contact with old, new, and future friends just to let everyone know you are around. Other people may be moving into new things, nut it still dont changer the fact that actual people are on myspace and by deleting your account would not only cut you off from the communication with your friends, but from those who might want to contact you. I bet your friends have undercover accounts.

trust me, myspace is far from over. it may have slowed down a bit, but it has become an advertising giant as far as movies and music, and sadly even webcam porno sites go.

i don't see anything even coming close to MySpace anytime soon, i really don't.

I never joined myspace because I found it to be annoying. Myspace was just another fad that has come and gone. People join just because their friends did and soon it becomes so popular that it is no longer unique. People soon move on to something new and fresh, and the cycle continues.

I invented MySpace five years before MySpace existed. I invented the next big thing too, BLOGS, three years before it's time. Internet Advertising; well, Back in 1992 I wrote the first phone book online. GTE tried to buy my programming and like a MORONIC RETARD, I refused to talk to them because I wanted to make BILLIONS. I totally blew that deal. I was a FOOL.

The next big thing, I wrote it already. I will not be credited for it though, it will just be STOLEN from me like eBay's ENTIRE advertised pages were. You know those pages that display items? I wrote that code. THEY STOLE IT FROM ME.

Yes, I am for real. Yes, you think I am full of $hit. I know. Well, that explains why I am alone. Normal people cannot believe my intelligence, yet the eBay's of this world know they can steal from me, and do.

Well personally i never saw a need for myspace. Thing is, like an email address, and my being in high school, no one felt like using regular email. It had to be MYSPACE...so at annoyance to all end I subjected myself to creating a page, which stayed basic for about a year or two. At that time I decided I wanted to learn some html and i have the page you see now.

so do I still have the page? Yes

Why? to a few friends its become the last way I know anything about them since I've graduated. But honestly I perfer my blogs and email. guess I've always been a little old school internet, still lurking 4chan and IRC.

What will be the new thing? Youtube and google video. In my opinion they are doing more to net culture than any of the other sites I see right now.

The question lies, is myspace old? guess the death throes started when Murdoch bought it. same as when google bought youtube. Alot of the older users saw it as a sell out. That may be the reason. I am seeing much movement to facebook which many feel has sold out by allowing non .edu emails and the addition of the news feeds which many of us have come to calling Stalkerbook.

I'm wondering when the next major internet community will spring up, right now i see it as the transition period caused by the fact that the news for some reason likes to pick on myspace, causing some of the more alarmist parents to ban it in thier houses making some users go searching for the next thing.

Then again, this could be a sign not of the times but of the peer group you are in, we leave and the next line of high schoolers jump in....

just something to think about....

Myspace has peaked in popularity though it will be widely used for a long time yet. What makes me mad is that myspace has been around for a long time now and not once have they updated it or tried to make it more efficient, user friendly, or added cooler features. What they need to do is to make all the myspace type pages from other companies etc. able to merge into one giant database, then the myspace revolution will be kickstarted again.
